An hour-and-a-half, it took me. An hour-and-a-half -- and for most of it, I never got out of first gear. Whew.
But the snow is so lovely, I can't truly complain about my crawling commute.
I'm happy that my friend and my niece were able to be here for some snow -- I just hope it doesn't affect their flight back home.
Yes, I said "niece." As two only children who have been best friends for over a dozen years, we have unofficially adopted each other. It was a joy to spend whatever free time I could with the three of them (Baby, Mom, and Grandmom) -- almost like old times, except for the squeaking, gurgling, wriggling little thing that captured our attention all the time.
Apparently, I make an awesome pacifier.
As much as I enjoyed spending the week with them -- and as much as I am plotting ways to escape to Arid-zona -- I am happy that life will now return to a quiet, peaceful rhythm.
Without babytalk.
And with snow.
